Being agnostic is a higher form of faith
Agnostics don't try to guess what the answer is. Not trying to guess about the existence of a higher power or the existence of an afterlife is an expression of complete trust and confidence. You accept, rather than expect.
What if everyone knew God exists??
If a higher power were actually going to suddenly appear on earth to judge people, it would seem like atheists or agnostics would be in better standing because they didn't use god or religion as justification for any of their actions. They used reason, logic, critical thinking and human principles that the higher power gave them, and they chose to not follow or be part of religions that had very little credibility, and did significant harm.
John 3:16-18 among the worst bible verses??
Jesus said that people who believed that he was the son of god could have eternal life in God's kingdom, and those who didn't believe would be condemned by God. This is a strange requirement. It simply is not reasonable for God to expect anyone to believe that Jesus is God's son. There is absolutely nothing morally wrong with not believing. No good, all powerful god would condemn people because of it.
If I were the devil … I’d create religion
If I were the devil, I'd create religion. Several religions, actually - not just one. There's no better tool than religion to cause division and conflict, and get people to turn away human principles and critical thinking.
There are no Christian principles
There are no Christian principles - or any other religious principles. There are principles that may be embodied in the teachings of Christianity, but there are no principles that originate from or are exclusive to Christianity or any other religion. Human principles exist independently of Christianity and they predate Christianity.
The bible is not the word of God
When it comes right down to it, the Bible seems more like the work of the devil instead of the word of God. If you were the devil, and you wanted to wreak all sorts of chaos and turn people against God's will, wouldn't it make sense to author a book and get people to think it was the word of god?
Religion is not inherently good
Religion is not inherently good. For whatever good it does, it is also the source of significant harm. The good that is done by religion can and is being done without religion, but the harm caused by religion is specific to religion.
Everyone’s belief or non-belief in God is just a guess
One of the most important things for anyone to acknowledge about their belief or non-belief in God or religion is that it is just a guess. No one knows for sure. No one has any inside information. No one’s special. No one’s chosen.
